Andrew is a family law expert with considerable experience in helping couples settle their financial affairs and children's arrangements following the breakdown of a marriage or de facto relationship.
He has presented papers on various topics to groups including the Law Society of South Australia, the Taxation Institute of Australia, the Australia and New Zealand Association for Psychiatry, Psychology and the Law, CPA Australia and to various groups of chartered accountants. He has also contributed to a book in relation to the preparation by psychologists of reports for the Family Law Court.
Part of his work involves providing advice and negotiating settlements over property disputes and maintenance arrangements between partners.
In cases where mediation is not successful, Andrew represents clients in the Family Court to resolve disagreements over property and finances, as well as parenting issues.
He is also an experienced litigator in the Supreme and District Courts involving the financial consequences of de facto relationship breakdowns.
Andrew can help clients with pre-marriage and pre-de facto relationship contracts and advise on the best ways to protect assets.
