Geoff has been practicing since 1989 and has now established himself as one of South Australia’s more experienced medical defence lawyers. Skilled in civil and criminal litigation, he represents doctors and dentists in civil and criminal proceedings, at coroner’s inquests and disciplinary enquiries.

Geoff regularly advises medical and dental defence organisations and their members on issues such as risk management, professional indemnity, negligence and in responding to complaints of unprofessional conduct. His practice also includes the administrative law issues arising from the professional activities of both doctors and dentists.

Professionals outside the health sector are also among Geoff’s clients, particularly teachers who need legal support over disciplinary or criminal proceedings. He also acts for an insurer in relation to compensation claims brought by people injured in motor vehicle accidents.

In recent years Geoff has concentrated on representing health and education professionals in claims for damages and in defending allegations of unprofessional conduct and criminal charges. His litigation and dispute resolution experience is extensive and includes the South Australian Criminal and Civil Court systems, as well as disciplinary and administrative tribunals. Because of the personal and financial costs of litigation, wherever possible Geoff aims to achieve a negotiated, rather than a litigated outcome for his clients.
