An experienced litigation lawyer who was admitted to practice in 1996, Melanie has represented the Local Government Association Mutual Liability Scheme (LGAMLS) on behalf of various South Australian councils in public liability and professional indemnity claims for more than a decade.

Melanie provides a broad range of advice to the LGAMLS and South Australian Councils as to the risks and resultant liability exposures arising out of their role as statutory authorities, as owners and occupiers of public and private property and infrastructure, and as providers of professional advice and services to the South Australian community.

Melanie is an experienced litigator and accredited mediator and utilises these skills in helping her clients identify, work towards and achieve beneficial commercial outcomes in often difficult circumstances.

Melanie understands the importance of sound legal risk management advice and is experienced in training and development of client operational staff to minimize risk of exposure to litigation, whether public/professional liability in nature or otherwise.
