Since commencing work as a solicitor in 1994, Alison has developed an excellent reputation in all aspects of family law, including property matters, children’s issues, spousal and child maintenance and agreements, as well as pre-nuptial and financial agreements and de facto relationship disputes. Alison has a comprehensive knowledge of court procedure, and practises extensively in the Family Court, including in interstate Family Court Registries as well as representing clients in the Supreme and District Courts in de facto relationship matters.
Alison’s tertiary studies in law included taxation, securities and finances and she subsequently completed the degree of Master of Business Administration which means that she has specific expertise in dealing with the commercial, financial and property aspects related to family law matters.
Alison has the ability to analyse issues carefully, explain options and implications clearly to clients and undertake the appropriate legal processes thoroughly and in an organised and timely manner. She is a skilled and experienced negotiator with an in-depth understanding and up-to-date knowledge of relevant family law legislation and cases, leading to the best results for her clients.
She has an ongoing commitment to legal education and has lectured in the LLB program at the University of Adelaide and the legal practice program at the Law Society of South Australia, as well as presenting legal papers at seminars and publishing papers in legal journals. Her paper in the Law Society of South Australia Bulletin in 2004 received the prestigious “Article of the Year Award” from the Law Society of South Australia.
Alison’s interests outside the law are her family, reading, yoga and music, including playing the cello.
