Fiona joined the firm in 2009 as a generalist practitioner in the firm's Employment and Workplace division.  

Fiona prides herself on providing not only strategic but practical employment and workplace advice in this highly regulated field.

Fiona advises on the full range of Human Resource services, from contractual and consultancy agreements, OH&S and risk management, award classification and structure,  training and development on relevant IR legislation, termination of employment processes, through to court and tribunal work arising out of industrial disputes.  Additionally, she provides assistance and representation for employers in regards to Workcover claims and compensation.

As an experienced practitioner, Fiona assists a range of corporations, non–for profit bodies, statutory authorities, Councils and local government entities.  Her experience in local government extends to the interplay of employment law with legislation regarding good governance and probity and as such, has been involved in contract preparation and review for the recruitment of management and executive local government personnel.

Prior to joining Wallmans, Fiona practiced in general and commercial litigation in both South Australia and the Northern Territory, running complex matters to trial in the Supreme and District Courts. Throughout her career and time at Wallmans Lawyers, Fiona has also practiced in injury law.

Fiona prides herself on her direct communication style and ability to source the best outcomes for her clients, with particular attention on minimising cost and delay.

Fiona has degrees in Law and Arts and speaks fluent German.
